Centennial Campaign

If you have landed on this page, then likely you have experienced the life changing experience of summer camp, whether as a camper, counselor or family member.  As campers, we remember the friends and fun that is uniquely camp.  But the camp experience is about so much more: it’s about developing children into independent young adults with confidence in themselves and care for others and their world.

We believe this mission is more important than ever before given the fast-paced, multi-tasking, and virtually connected world that youth are living in today.  These girls need a place where is it safe to be themselves, try new experiences, grow in character and yes, laugh and giggle.

Camp Riva-Lake has been that place for thousands of girls over the last 100 years.  Camp has evolved with the times, staying relevant to our campers and yet remaining timeless in our commitment to being a life-changing experience for our campers.   Our goal is to remain timeless and relevant for the next 100 years, giving thousands more young girls a summer experience that will provide lasting friendships, new adventures and the confidence to grow into their innate potential.

We are celebrating our Centennial with a Centennial Campaign and requesting your help to keep the CRL fire burning bright for years to come.   The centerpiece of our campaign is our plans to renovate the Playhouse, the heartbeat of camp. The Playhouse has stood proudly over the Elk River and Tim’s Ford Lake for decades and if walls could talk, oh the stories and laughter they would tell!  We have a plan to lovingly restore this treasured landmark.

Phase 1 will refurbish the back of the Playhouse preserving such items as the fireplace and the mailboxes. We will repair the walls and windows and build a new rustic trophy/ memory case to showcase our 100 Years of Sisterhood.  We’ll also improve our CRL Shop where we sell incidentals and CRL merchandise.

Future phases will upgrade the basketball court area improving our lighting and fans, refinishing the floor and adding basketball hoops which can be adjusted to accommodate our youngest campers. We will also address the pressing need to weatherproof the Playhouse adding barn or garage-style doors to improve use during the summer and protect the Playhouse in the offseason.

We hope you will join us in contributing to our Centennial Campaign to raise $100,000 for 100 more years of Riva-Lake spirit.  You may give through our Centennial registration, PayPal, Venmo or a check.  Your contributions are tax-deductible and will leave a lasting legacy.
