BEING A COUNSELOR AT CAMP RIVA LAKE, IS NO ORDINARY SUMMER JOB...

…and we are not looking to employ just ordinary people. When we hire staff for the summer we look for people that will form the foundation that we base our entire community on. We look for people that we believe would make strong, positive role models in the lives of our campers and be leaders and mentors within our small community. The residential setting means that every choice you make will be observed and potentially replicated by the girls in your care.

WHERE WILL I LIVE

Counselors live in cabins which are permanent wooden structures with screened windows. You live with at least one other counselor and about 6-10 campers. There is no air conditioning, Just fresh air and fans!

CABIN STAFF

Cabin Counselors live with, supervise and mentor a cabin of 6-10 girls. They run evening programs and sometimes assist in activities during the day. With at least 2 counselors living in each cabin, campers feel as comfortable with their cabinmates as they do in their own homes.

ACTIVITIES STAFF

Even though activities staff reside in the cabins, their primary responsibility is in leading activities. Our activities include Swimming, Canoeing, Sailing, Tennis, Basketball, Arts and Crafts, Archery, Dance, and Woodslore. Activities staff must have demonstrated expertise in the activity they lead.
