Lessons from Camp

They say we learn something new every day. The older we get the more important it is to continue filling our brains with new information. It seems acronyms are taking over the world. In all of our various jobs and careers, we use acronyms that mean very little to the folks outside our "sphere of expertise." We learned a new one this week. SEL. Social-Emotional Learning. We know a lot of good things happen out there at camp in the summer, and we can't always put our finger on what the total of all those good things are. The smart folks at Harvard, along with data from the American Camp Association have done just that. Enjoy this article as you prepare your daughter for all the natural wonders she will encounter at camp this summer.
